Photo Gallery/Review: Lionel Young Cleans Up at Sticky Lips

It’s not often that an artist gets to return home, and when they do it is always special for them aas well as the community they left to pursue their dreams.

We here in Rochester, NY  were treated to the return of the native when Lionel and band played Sticky Lips BBQ & Juke Joint. A super venue for seeing live music putting us right in the pit with the band it soon became obvious to al of us that it was more a living room that a juke joint.

Lionel showcased his exceptional fiddle playing as well as his superb feel for the slide guitar (not to mention his stage presence and humor). Along with his band of outstanding musicians, Andre Mali (trumpet), Dexter Payne (Sax, Clarinet, Harp), Jay Forrest (drums, vocals) and Kimet Stone (bass) he was joined by Rochester guitarist Chet Cattalo for impromptu jamming and it was like they played together for years!

Support the artists – go see live music – but their CD’s directly from them, and spread the word. If you don’t who will and all we will be left with is corporate music for the masses……
