Photo Gallery: Free Friday at Chenango Blues Fest

It’s just amazing that this ‘little festival that could’ continues to bring some of the top talent out there to Norwich, NY. Friday is free to all, Saturday is jam packed with two stages and top of the line artists.

Free Friday this year consisted of Murali Coryell, Anders Osborne and Papa Grows Funk. Failure is not an option with this line up.
Murali kicked it off with a rich blend of NY R&B influenced music that went from soul to good ol’ rock n’ roll.
Anders Osborne & band took it thru the roof, as the man possessed led everyone on a guided tour of his black eyed galaxy and exquisite guitar work. To watch him and bassist, Carl Dufrense work the stage and each other is a pleasure indeed.
Papa Grows Funk, from New Orleans, kicked it like a funky monkey and Anders joined them for some solid jamming during their set.

Chenango has consistently brought NY State a top level festival for 20 years, they should be one of the the templates for how to do it right. Volunteer run, nothing taken from artist sale of CD’s, pleasant atmosphere and great fans.

Thank you Eric Larsen, and everyone involved. Your love of the music and blues framily is obvious and appreciated by all who know you. Now on to some snaps…..
