LRBC #17 Photos and Re-Cap for October 22-24th

Blues411 was born out of the desire to bring Blues fans, the most interesting news relating to the mother of all American Music. Keeping the Blues alive isn't enough, we must be active and keep it thriving and our slogan going forward is Blues411 Where Blues Thrives!

Well if this really was the end of an era, then it went out with a freakin’ bang !

From touch down in San Diego thru pre-cruise party (thank you BLUSD) and right on through the entire main event this cruise – week of nirvana – may well be the best ever.

Bobby ‘Blue’ Bland tribute to his bands sterling performances, to Lionel Young and his cohorts dressed to kill and doing just that to the audience. Otis Taylor trancing the cruisers as the biggest hit of the superb line up (maybe most surprising for some reason). With Otis’s daughter Cassie with the Girls With Guitars (and legs) making the sound man scream ‘oh my eyes have gone to heaven’ and all of this within the first 24 -36 hours.

Roy Gaines was everywhere in his sartorial splendor and guitar in hand, Tab Benoit held early court in the Ocean Bar for jamming after the piano bars embers slowly burnt out. Cedric Burnside crushing and wowing the audiences with raw energy while Chubby Carrier threw party after party for everyone.

So good folks here is a link to some photos from October 22-24th, more to come in two/three day increments (total shot 3,200+) edited down to a smaller to be determined number.

enjoy these and hope to see you on the next cruise in January.

Until next time,
