Hopefully we are all settled and back to the serious routines of daily life now that the holidays are over. Hope that y’all had some big fun with the long weekend, and took in some great live music as we did. Never miss the opportunity to get out and support these musicians live it is well worth the effort.
Looking at this weeks selections we see Too Slim Langford pulsating at the top of the chart with “Blue Heart” – Tim has relocated to Nashville but brought his Pacific Northwest sensibilities and married them into the Nashville music community very nicely. This release might get some Blues Music Award interest – let’s hope so.
Nice to see Cassie Taylor at #2 spot – the daughter of a bluesman extraordinaire she has carved out her own path (go figure) in her music and style. We are very happy to see her success as an artist and a person. Just one addition to the main menu this week, guess it shows how tough the competition is to get into the upper bracket here.
But the ‘Tasty Additions’ segment has three new plates to sample. They cover a wide range of tastes each outstanding as they are different. Doug MacLeod, Sugar Ray Rayford, and Frank Bang & The Secret Stash all have something that y’all should be listening to.
If ya got some time later tonight, stop by Music on The Couch (you can find the link almost anywhere, like on the side bar to the right) as I make my monthly appearance to talk about what we have upcoming in our little section of the blues world. Hope to see ya there.
