Getting ready on awards day did not involve sitting around plucking and preening! No way – we hit the halls for some hellos, then hit breakfast and then off to Court Square for an acoustic set by Jeff Jensen & Brandon Santini.
B.B. King’s was showcasing Yellow Dog Recording Artists Colin Linden (who is amazingly talented in so many ways), Mary Flower (guitar player extraordinaire and thank you for comments) and the Eden Brent BMA Award winning piano player/singer/songwriter.
Back to the hotel to buy drink tickets (ahem) and some more visiting, then dress up time and on to awards. Photos to come from that!
Well since the internet at the hotel was very cooperative we had to wait to get back home for me to post up some snaps of what went on – you will not be disappointed.
Great times and superior music that ran from Rum Boogie to Hard Rock as artists played, jammed, mingled and made us feel welcome.
Thanks to everyone – I’m not gonna mention names at fear of forgetting one or two or three, but you know who you are, and we all loved it! But a special shout out to Carson Lamm & Rattlebone Jones for their efforts.
President and Mrs. Obama will host “In Performance at The White House: Red, White, and Blues”, a concert in honor of Black History Month featuring Buddy Guy, Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews, Jeff Beck, Gary Clark, Jr., Shemekia Copeland, Warren Haynes, Mick Jagger, B.B. King, Keb Mo, Susan Tedeschi, Derek Trucks, and Booker T. Jones as music director and band leader!!! Tune in to PBS on Monday February 27 at 9PM E.T. to catch what is sure to be an absolutely INCREDIBLE show!
